Remember this about the radical authoritarian failures who run America's one-party government: They aren't rulers because of the impoverished power of their ideas.

No, it is the thuggish power of their voices -- and assorted illegal acts -- that have given them rubber stamp control of this nation.

Sometimes it is important to remember that there are voices, fine melodic ones at that, who have the courage to speak truth to power.

The Dixie Chicks have risked their careers to be critical of the peril that the Bush regime poses to the United States.

Yet, they received divine justice of sorts when their latest album, "Taking the Long Way," soared to number one on the charts awhile back.

It's not a political album. In fact, it's a highly personal one. They are musicians after all.

But they are also patriots who care deeply about their country, and aren't intimidated by the brutes in the White House.

The Dixie Chicks have fine voices -- and are a voice to listen to, in more ways than one.

That is why they merit this week's BuzzFlash "Wings of Justice Award."
